As an Apprentice Engineer, you will help to contribute and resolve the impacts of historical mining through designing, procuring and overseeing the construction of civil engineering solutions.
You'll be part of our experienced and friendly Engineering team who pride themselves on their structured mentoring programme for professional development and valuable training. You will receive training and experience in a wide range of civil engineering disciplines including structural engineering and geotechnical engineering. You will also be working alongside environmental scientists and project managers to ensure that designs deliver sustainability and environmental improvements.
The post will involve hybrid working and it is anticipated that typically 3 days on average will be within the Mansfield office subject to working patterns and business requirements, with day release to the University of Derby (28 days a year). Visits to our construction sites across the country will be required which transport and accommodation will be provided for.
An apprenticeship offer will be subject to acceptance onto the Degree Apprenticeship at the University of Derby. Applications to this apprenticeship will need to be made through the Mining Remediation Authority who will coordinate the process between the three parties of prospective Apprentice, University of Derby and the Mining Remediation Authority.
You will be employed on a fixed term contract which will be subject to the ongoing successful completion of the apprenticeship programme and working in accordance with the values and behaviours of the Authority.
Your pay will be linked to your qualification and performance milestones throughout the life of the apprenticeship. Job responsibilities and competency levels will be updated each academic year to reflect the knowledge, skills and experience gained. A starting salary of £24,454 per annum, progressing to £34k + (based on current salaries) upon IEng award.
